Luxury apartments are not really that much luxurious in price, at least not any more.
Since a lot of people recognized (and are still recognizing) the benefits of living (or simply renting for a couple of days or weeks) a luxurious apartment, compared to a non-luxurious one, the demand has grown, and with it the offer.
Both of these factors resulted in a significant drop in pricing, meaning luxurious apartments have now become more affordable than ever before.
There are a couple of types of luxury apartments, depending on whether they are made in a smaller building or a larger one, depending on the neighbourhood and the build itself.
However, there is a specific type of luxury apartments I want to talk about in more detail, and those are the penthouse apartments, sometimes also referred to as rooftop apartments.
A penthouse apartment or simply a penthouse is an apartment on the highest floor of an apartment building.
The term penthouse originally referred to, and sometimes still does refer to, a separate smaller “house” that was constructed on the roof of an apartment building.
For example, NYC luxury apartments with rooftop saw their boom during the 1920s, called “The Roaring Twenties”, when economic growth brought a construction boom to New York City, the heart of the American economy.
Advantages of having a penthouse
Perhaps the biggest advantage of owning (or renting) a penthouse is in the privacy. Being on top of a building, there is basically no one who can see you from the apartment across the way, and your closest neighbour is so far below that you can play your music really loud, or have friends over with very little chance of you bothering the neighbours and them calling the cops on you.
Rooftop apartments also offer more in terms of security. Usually, these kinds of apartments have some sort of security gate at the top, with different access codes for both residents and non-residents. Luxurious buildings often have a guard, and pretty much every building today has security CCTV cameras installed everywhere.
Benefits of having a penthouse
If it’s sunny outside, guess what? You don’t need the solarium. There are many benefits of having a rooftop; some of them are financial in nature, while others are more in the convenient side of life.
If you’re environmentally aware and would like to spend less energy and help save the planet, you can use your rooftops to both set up plants, or solar panels. Both of these things will bring benefits to the nature, the reduction of greenhouse effects, or the energy consumption. The latter will also reflect kindly on your electricity bill, which is always a good thing.
If you’re worried that it might get a bit too steamy during summer, you’re wrong. Most rooftop apartments have bigger ceilings which allow for the hot air to move upwards, leaving you and your air conditioning with less stress and power consumption.
These are just some of the benefits and advantages of having a luxurious penthouse apartment, and to count all of them here would take forever.
